| Compost Use compost to topdress residential lawns or commercial properties. Apply 1/2" in the fall after growth of grass slows or stops, then raking and watering. It helps break down thatch in lawns and provides nutrients to the soil and plant roots, giving your lawn a healthy start in the spring. Use compost to topdress your sports fields, improving the appearance of your grasses and lessening the impact and possible injury from falls during sports events. Seed can also be injected in the organic material for winter overseeding. Our Express Blower truck has the Supplemental Injection System which calibrates the injection of seed (such as Winter Rye, Common Bermuda, or Millet) and other granulars (such as fertilizers) into the primary product (compost or soil mix). This patented process yields faster, more uniform germination. The process of injecting seed into compost as it is blown over plain soil or existing turf is called Terraseeding (TM). Use Terraseeding (TM) for new lawn installation, renovation or for topdressing over existing lawn or turf. |
