Silt Fence Replacement
There is an alternative to silt fence. This technology is called the filter sock. A filter sock is a mesh sock that is blown full of screened, composted wood chips. The filter sock allows storm water runoff to pass through it while filtering out sediment and pollution. It is more effective at filtering silt and sediment than silt fence. Disposal is easier and less expensive, as the compost can simply be left on the ground as a soil amendment. Organic filter socks are already accepted and recommended by the EPA, TCEQ (formerly TNRCC), and TXDOT as best management practices (storm water structural controls) under Phase I and II Storm water permits. Available in 8", 12", 18" and custom diameters.

We also offer a
filter berm (also called a mulch berm or ecoberm), which uses native mulch or screened composted wood chips combined with an eco-friendly bonding additive. The berm is completely recyclable at the end of the project.

Texas Power Mulch is located in Houston, TX and will bid for sediment and erosion control work in most parts of Texas, including the coastal area.
