Hardwood Bark Mulch
This mulch is made of Oak, Hickory and other raw material received by our supplier from East Texas saw mills. It is sent through a tub grinder and placed in a static pile. Hardwood Bark Mulch is used as a top dressing in planting beds and around trees. It regulates the temperature and moisture of the soil, which protects the root systems of the plants, cuts down on weeds, and adds organic material to the soil mix as it decomposes.
Native Mulch
Many tree companies, landscapers and individuals bring our supplier their tree trimmings, branches and tree trunks. This material is ground and moved into very large, static piles. The heat generated by these piles decomposes the material and results in a mulch which is very similar in appearance to hardwood mulch. Since Oak, Pecan and some other hardwood trees make up the majority of the material in Native Mulch, it lasts almost as long as Hardwood Mulch.
Organic Compost
Just like the home gardener who makes compost from yard and kitchen waste, compost produced on a large scale makes use of the same type of materials, aging and turning piles of decaying matter from 3 to 12 months. The microbes need air, water, carbon material (dried leaves, bark, grass) and protein/nitrogen material (manure, kitchen waste, green vegetable matter) to make compost. Compost?s microorganisms improve poor soil. Great as a soil conditioner worked into existing soil, aerating soil and providing nutrients for roots of vegetables, flowers and grass. It makes a great topdressing for lawns or sports fields, applying ½" in the fall after growth slows or stops, then raking and watering. It helps break down thatch in lawns and provides nutrients to the soil and plant roots.
Composted Cow Manure
Organic Compost with cow manure added. Same applications as Organic Compost.
Landscape Mix
A medium textured amendment many be required when rejuvenating existing flower and shrub beds. Landscape Mix is ideal for this purpose. It is all highly organic and includes lots of small pine particles along with other organics and a small amount of sand. This is a premium blend and can be used to build landscape beds.
Rose Soil Mix
It is made of several organic ingredients, some sand and fertilizer. Because this fertilizer is part of the mix it is available to plant roots as they develop. Premium Rose Soil Mix can be used as an amendment to existing soils, to build beds from the bottom up (including raised beds) and as a container mix for Roses, Hibiscus and other ornamentals. It is a fairly heavy mix, but still drains well because it also includes coarser organic material
